How it works

A middle is two independent bets, not a hedge. The stakes are not sized to cancel each other out. If the result falls outside both lines, exactly one side wins and the other loses; the loss on one nets against the win on the other for a small, known cost.

If the result lands between the two lines, both bets win at once. That window is the “middle”, and it is the entire reason to place the bet. You are risking a small, capped amount for a shot at a much larger one.

Worked example

Total points market: Over 47.5 at one book, Under 49.5 at another, both at 1.91, $110 on each side.

Total risk$220.00
Final total 48 or 49 (middle hits)+$200.00
Final total 47 or below, or 50 or above−$10.00

Two point values (48 and 49) turn a guaranteed $10 cost into a $200 win — the classic "risk $10 to win $200" middle.
